My name is Jojo and I am the creator of this site.
I simply love animals and particularly dogs. I always have and I always will. Dogs truly are mans best friend but sometimes things go seriously wrong and the relationship with your dog don’t turn out the way it is supposed to.
Let me tell you a little story. Like many people I always dreamed of a dog ever since I was a little kid. I could not get one as a kid for a number of reasons so as an adult when me and my wife moved from an apartment into a house we decided to get a dog.
After talking to a number of people and reading a lot about dogs we decided on a German Shepard. According to the advice we got from different kennels and veterinarians we bought a dog which just over a year old as this should be easier than raising a young puppy. Especially since we were both working full time and we only had a couple of weeks holiday in order to train the dog and teach her to stay alone at home.
The big day came and we fetched the dog who were named Jara. It was a beautiful female german shepard and she was really a soft and kind creature. It was soo exiting and we were both really happy. After spending the day away from home, walking and sightseeing we came back home to our house and here is what happened next.
The cat (we had a cat since a few months) who was only a kitten attacked the big dog and chased her away. Jara would not even defend herself, she was too scared and intimidated. It took a couple of days before Jara realised that the little kitten wasn’t a match for her and that he really could not hurt her too much so well that part of the problem was ok.
But for the rest wow, it was difficult. The dog had only lived in a kennel and was not housetrained in any way. We had to clean the floor constantly as she was not toilettrained and we really had difficulties making her understand that she should go outside. Whenever we left home for a little while, we would come back only to find crap everywhere and to find a number of our belongings ripped apart.
We could not get any sleep either. Night after night was the same story. She would bark and bark and bark until she lost her voice and couldn’t bark anymore. She was obviously feeling abandoned and therefore she barked soo much. We had the same problem with the cat but it only lasted one night, with the dog it just went on and on.
Finally after 10 days we decided we would not be able to keep our dog as we were go back to work and we had gotten nowhere in terms of training. It was a really sad day, especially for me. The kennel took the dog back and fortunately they found a good home for her. That was the most important thing of all.
After that I decided that I have to learn a lot more before getting another dog. The book I had bought about German shepards simply was not enough to learn how to properly train a dog, especially not for a novice who never had a dog before. So I started searching in order to find a good, simple and effective way to train a dog.
The result of my search is what you will find on this website. There are soo many people wanting a dog and there are unfortunately soo many people who are struggling to raise their dogs simply because they do not know how to do it. This why I built this website, to share this information and to help you solve any possible dog raising issue you might have.
The way I see it, having a dog should be fun and filled with joy and there is no reason why it can not be that way. So lets just get to it and feel free to ask me anything about dogtraining and I will do my best to help you. What I do not already know I can fin out.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy my website.
